WHY JOIN PTO?
The FORES Parent Teacher Organization is an essential part of your child’s school. FORES PTO works very hard behind the scenes in order to raise money to fund materials, programs, and services that are not covered in the school district's budget.
100% of your money stays at the school!
Most importantly, joining PTO is a lot more than paying a membership fee. It is a way to be a part of FORES' amazing parent/teacher team. It is also an effective way to support your child in their learning community.
Our goal is for 100% of our families to join!
DO I HAVE TO ATTEND MEETINGS?
NO! We have meetings throughout the year but they are not required. We would however love your input, please send us an email anytime you have a suggestion. We meet as a board every first Tuesday at 10 am and will keep you posted about general meetings.

WHAT DO PTO MEMBERSHIP FEES AND FUNDRAISING PROFITS PAY FOR?

Here is an example of some of the items that PTO has funded:
Sumdog.com Math Subscription for Math Fluency
Reading Intervention Hardware and Software
Materials for Struggling Readers
Numerous iPads Plus AirWatch and Shatterproof Cases

Professional Development for Teachers and Staff
WHY SHOULD I PAY THE STUDENT ENRICHMENT FEE? WHAT IS IT FOR?
Enrichment fees stay with the grade level and follow them as they advance through FORES so that if not all funds can be used in one year they can be used the following year. Thanks to your student enrichment fee donations, the PTO has been able to fund things for FORES students such as::
Classroom library books
Classroom presentations & in-house field trips
Grade level field trips
Grade level technology enhancements
Classroom supplies & necessities
Classroom learning stations & manipulatives
Supplemental classroom supplies, materials & subscriptions
In order to continue to provide these enrichment activities for our students, the PTO asks for a student enrichment fee donation in the amount of $20 per student. Although this donation is voluntary and individual student participation in such activities is not tied to contributions, we encourage all parents to contribute. These programs, materials, and services will be reduced or eliminated without this funding.
Please note that while your PTO membership dollars go towards supplementing the entire school’s needs, the enrichment fee stays with your child’s grade level. Both are VERY important and both have equally important benefits!
WHAT TYPE OF FUNDRAISING EVENTS DOES PTO ORGANIZE?
PTO organizes two major fundraisers during the school year.
First, is the “I Love My School” fundraising and school-spirit initiative which starts at the end of September. This fundraiser is 2 weeks jam-packed full of all kinds of activities to boost school spirit and community awareness. We kick the fundraiser off with a pep rally for students and an evening parent meet-and-greet with an option to purchase tickets to some very exciting parties and student “experiences!” We wrap it up with have a fun run to help promote being healthy and celebrate a great 2 weeks.
The Cowboy Breakfast is our second major fundraiser that takes place in February. Not only is it our largest fundraiser of the year, it’s the most fun! There are food trucks, rides, game stations, raffles, and an amazing auction with over 150 items to bid on. In fact, each classroom assembles their own uniquely themed basket to add to the auction block! We also receive several auction donations from the community to include hunting trips, photography sessions, spa days, and so much more! It’s a wonderful family and community event that helps FORES students get the much-needed funding for equipment and supplies that our school relies on to remain exceptional!
